Helsinki South Harbour

A joint winning proposal for an international design competition for the City of Helsinki seaside square and harbour. The competition had over 200 entries.

After careful consideration of the City of Helsinki brief and aspirations, a series of architectural and urban interventions were proposed that respected the historic city environment while clarifying and intensifying what was already worth celebrating. Continuous, carefully-designed urban environment was envisaged to connect all the key public spaces throughout the competition area and within its nearby surroundings.

Ulla Tervo was the project lead designer while employed at Allies and Morrison Architects, working together with the Partners on the design.
